How we calculate it
- Each operator contributes one number: its headline price for a 2-tank boat dive, the same price shown on its listing. Single-tank, shore-only and multi-day trips are left out so every figure is the same kind of dive.
- Prices outside $40–$400 per person are treated as data errors (for example, a private-boat rate recorded as a per-person price) and excluded.
- Non-USD prices are converted at European Central Bank reference rates from 2026-10-13. Where every operator in a destination quotes the same local currency, the local median is shown too.
- We use the median, not the average, so one luxury operator can’t skew a destination. Prices are what operators publish; taxes, rental gear and marine park fees are usually extra.
