ScubaTech Destin has been diving the Emerald Coast since 1986, operating out of Heron Harbor Marina at 301 Harbor Blvd in Destin, Florida. Every charter departs through Destin Pass into the Gulf of Mexico, where reefs and wrecks sit in 60 to 110+ feet of water with visibility regularly reaching 40+ feet from May through October. Signature sites include the Miss Louise and the Thomas Hayward Liberty Ship, alongside natural limestone ledges and purpose-built artificial reefs teeming with marine life. The heart of the operation is the Sea Cobra — a 42-foot, USCG-inspected dive vessel powered by twin 892 Detroit Diesel engines. She accommodates up to 18 divers and is purpose-built for scuba, with secure tank racks, two giant stride entry points, two drop-down ladders, a covered cabin with dry storage and a marine toilet, fresh-water rinse tanks, an onboard O₂ kit, and a water refill station. Trips range from a relaxed 1-tank shallow dive at 10–30 feet to a 3-tank inshore dive (nitrox required) and a 6-hour offshore wreck charter reaching 90–130 feet for advanced divers. Looking ahead, ScubaTech is positioning to be a primary charter operator for the SS United States — the 990-foot ocean liner scheduled for deployment as the world's largest artificial reef off Destin-Fort Walton Beach in 2026. The shop also offers SSI certification courses from Open Water through Divemaster, guided dive travel, and a full-service retail shop at the harbor with air and nitrox fills, tank inspections, regulator service, and daily gear rentals.
