Divetech Houston operates out of a dedicated scuba training facility at 5325 Cornish in Houston, Texas, and is the only scuba training center in the area recognized as a post-secondary school by the U.S. Department of Education. The shop features a large indoor heated pool that provides students with a comfortable, controlled environment for pool sessions, removing weather from the equation during classroom and skills training phases. Open water evaluations are conducted at the Blue Lagoon in Huntsville, TX, giving students real-world lake experience before earning their certification. The training program runs the full SSI ladder — from Open Water certification ($525 per person, including digital training materials, tanks, regulator, and BCD) through Advanced Open Water, a broad selection of SSI specialty courses (navigation, deep diving, night diving, nitrox, underwater photography, marine ecology, wreck, and more), and professional-level leadership programs including Dive Control Specialist, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Instructor development. Classes run weekday evenings and weekends to accommodate busy schedules, and private instruction for individuals or groups is also available. The staff roster of 14 credentialed instructors brings over 250 years of combined personal diving experience. Beyond the classroom and pool, Divetech runs Dolphin Travel — a full-service travel agency embedded within the operation — that organizes group dive trips to destinations throughout the Caribbean and worldwide. Trips cover coral reefs, dramatic walls, historic wrecks, and marquee marine-life encounters, and typically include Divetech instructors or staff members who help coordinate dives and guide participants in the water. The shop also handles equipment sales, maintenance, and repair, making it a one-stop resource for Houston-area divers at every stage of their journey.
