Beachhopper II Dive Charters
Experience the cold-water wonders of Monterey Bay aboard a dedicated dive boat with an extensive library of sites and professional crew.
Beachhopper II Dive Charters operates out of K-Dock in Monterey, California, offering cold-water scuba diving trips to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Carmel Bay. The vessel is a USCG-certified dive boat built specifically for diving, featuring a friendly deck, warm showers, and steel cylinders with air or nitrox available. The operator provides an extensive library of dive sites ranging from Monterey to Big Sur, catering to divers of all levels from beginner to expert. Diving conditions in the area are characterized by cold water temperatures between 48-52°F (approx 10°C) and visibility typically ranging from 10 to 30 feet. The site highlights the unique underwater topography of the Monterey Bay Submarine Canyon, which descends from about 60 feet to nearly 12,000 feet. In addition to standard dive charters, Beachhopper II offers private boat charters for up to 11 people and 'Memorial at Sea' services for scattering ashes approximately one mile offshore. The crew is led by Captain MaryJo Nelson, a USCG Master Mariner who has been operating in the area since 2004.
