Aquarius Dive Shop has been running guided shore dives in Monterey Bay since 1970, operating from 2040 Del Monte Avenue in Monterey, California, just off Highway 1 with direct access to shore diving and boat docks. The shop runs daily guided group shore dives through Monterey Bay's cold, nutrient-rich kelp forests, with groups limited to four to six divers and dive site selection left to the divemaster based on conditions and group experience. Free, unlimited on-site parking makes it a practical base for visiting divers arriving with their own boats or equipment. Private guided tours — limited to the diver or group and their divemaster — are available Monday through Friday only and offered as either one- or two-dive outings in the kelp forests. The shop is also home to Underwater Voyagers, described as Monterey Bay's largest active dive club, which runs weekly night dives alternating between Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and weekend day dives alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, with a monthly schedule published online. All club dives are subject to conditions and may be cancelled or rescheduled accordingly. Training spans the full range from introductory Discover Scuba Diving experiences for first-timers (minimum age 10, no prior experience required) through professional-level Course Director Prep Courses, with confined water sessions held in a heated pool on the premises. A full-service equipment rental department caters to visiting divers, and exotic dive travel beyond Monterey Bay is also organized through the shop.
