San Francisco SCUBA Schools
From a heated saltwater pool in Pacifica to the cold, kelp-rich waters of Monterey, San Francisco SCUBA Schools takes students from total beginner to certified PADI Open Water Diver in a structured, supportive environment.
San Francisco SCUBA Schools has been training divers since 1999, operating out of two locations: pool sessions at Anderson's Swim School in Pacifica (an indoor heated saltwater pool averaging 89°F), and open-water certification dives in Monterey, California, meeting at Aquarius Dive Shop on Del Monte Ave. The school offers a range of PADI certification tracks, from the entry-level Open Water Diver course through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and a variety of specialty courses. The Open Water Non-Referral course — the most complete offering — runs $699 and covers all pool sessions (including PADI materials and equipment), with ocean dive rentals available for an additional $90. A Referral course at $449 is designed for students who plan to complete their open-water dives at a tropical destination, making it ideal for those planning dive vacations. Classes run on weekday evenings and accelerated Saturday sessions, with ocean dives conducted over two days starting at 7:00 AM in Monterey. The school supplies all PADI study materials and pool equipment, and students diving in Monterey are provided with wetsuits, hoods, gloves, and booties for the 55°F average ocean temperatures. Private courses can also be arranged, and CPR/First Aid and specialty courses round out the curriculum.
