Pacific Charter Services
Feel the raw power of a barn-door halibut or the tuna frenzy on the open Pacific — Captain Curt Shoults brings 45-plus years of Coos Bay experience and custom handmade tackle to every charter.
Pacific Charter Services operates out of Charleston, Oregon, running guided ocean fishing charters on the Kingfisher Coastal Express with a maximum of 6 guests per trip. Captain Curt Shoults, a Master 100 Ton licensed captain with over 45 years of experience fishing Coos Bay, leads every trip himself and uses custom handmade tackle — Flutter Jigs, Shrimp Flies, Lead Fish, Blade Baits, Copper Pipe Jigs, and more — designed and built by the captain and his wife Anette. The charter lineup covers deep water lingcod and rockfish trips (5–6 hours, fishing 5–10 miles south of the jetty), offshore long-leader rockfish trips targeting species outside the 40-fathom line, 8–10 hour halibut trips with electric reels and complimentary filleting, 8–10 hour tuna trips, and ocean Dungeness crab excursions. All trips include rods, reels, bait, and tackle, plus fish filleting and bagging at the charter office. Guests check in at the private charter office 30 minutes before departure, where coffee is provided. On-site amenities include a picnic area for a catch-and-cook experience. The operation is rated 5 stars and is focused on serving families, children, and avid sportfishermen out of Coos Bay and Charleston.
