Operating out of Charleston, South Carolina, Whole Other World Scuba runs dive charters for certified divers across two distinct ranges of sites: near-shore wrecks and reefs within about an hour of departure, and deeper artificial wrecks and ledges roughly two hours offshore. The near-shore program is suited to Open Water certified divers at a maximum depth of 60 feet, offering a mix of fun dives, check-out dives, and drift dives. Advanced Open Water divers can access sites down to 130 feet that are largely comprised of artificial wrecks and ledges — also popular for spearfishing. The operation runs aboard a 26-foot Glacier Bay Island Runner catamaran, which accommodates up to 6 divers plus crew. Onboard amenities include coolers for drinks and catch, a dry storage area, and a marine head. The catamaran's stability makes for comfortable transits to both near-shore and offshore sites. In addition to offshore diving, the crew mentions fossil diving in the Cooper River as part of what they can arrange. The team includes SDI/PADI instructors who have been diving and teaching since 2008, and a captain who is a Rescue Diver and CPR Provider. The operation is also involved in Lionfish culling efforts, inviting divers to join on any Advanced Open Water dive to contribute to controlling the invasive species in the local area.
