Calypso Dive Charters
Face-to-face with Great Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks, and Caribbean Reef Sharks at the edge of Florida's Gulf Stream — Calypso's intimate 6-passenger charters deliver a shark diving encounter unlike anything else on South Florida's coast.
Operating from Slip 23 in Riviera Beach, Calypso Dive Charters runs daily trips along the Palm Beach County coastline and into the Gulf Stream for some of Florida's most distinctive shark encounters. The fleet consists of two vessels, each limited to just six passengers, ensuring personalized attention from certified divemasters and instructors holding credentials across NAUI, PADI, TDI, and SDI. Trip types range from shark snorkeling for non-scuba guests to 2-tank certified-diver expeditions at the fringes of the Gulf Stream, where strong currents demand comfort in open-ocean conditions. The shark diving program has been running for over ten years and is the clear signature offering, with species varying by season. Winter months bring Great Hammerhead, Tiger, Bull, Lemon, and Caribbean Reef Sharks, while summer sees Silky, Dusky, Sandbar, and Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks. Dives take place in open ocean water with max bottom times of 45 minutes per tank and a 45-minute surface interval. For divers seeking reef and wreck exploration, natural reefs span 45–75 feet and wrecks include the Cross Current Barge (55 ft), the Governors Wreck Trek and Corridor Wreck Trek (four wrecks in a row at 80 ft each), and the Princess Anne Wreck at 95 feet. All trips include cold bottled water, soft drinks, and snacks onboard, and full rental scuba gear (BCD, regulator with computer, wetsuit, weights, mask, snorkel, and fins) can be added during booking. The Miss Jackie vessel features a hot freshwater shower and a spacious dive platform with an easy-access ladder. Private charters for groups up to six — or multiple boats for larger parties — are available for all trip types.
