Active Divers Association is South Florida's oldest and longest-running scuba diving club, organizing group dives weekly throughout the dive season — typically April through October. Operating out of multiple partner dive shops across Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and the Florida Keys, the club gives members access to an exceptionally diverse roster of local sites: shallow reef dives off Tavernier, drift dives in Boynton Beach and Pompano, historic wrecks like the Benwood, Spiegel Grove, Vandenberg, and Okinawa, and distinctive shore dives at Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach. Two-tank dives are priced at a flat $85 per person and three-tank dives at $125 per person, with cancellation insurance included. The club's safety culture sets it apart — every diver must be approved by a Safety Officer before participating in advanced dives, and buddies are assigned at the dive briefing so no one enters the water alone. A rotating schedule of partner dive operators (Horizon Divers, Conch Republic, South Florida Dive Headquarters, Scubatyme, Starfish Scuba, Divers Paradise, and others) means members experience a wide variety of boats, crews, and sites throughout the season, with air tanks sometimes included and gear rental arranged directly with the shop. Beyond local diving, Active Divers organizes international group travel: an annual dive cruise aboard cruise ships visiting Roatan, Cozumel, and Costa Maya, Bahamas liveaboards with Blackbeards, and resort-based dive trips to destinations including Dominica, Bonaire, St. Lucia, Cayman Brac, and Fiji. International trips feature group pricing, Safety Officer oversight, and a strong emphasis on community, making them a popular add-on to an already active local dive calendar.
