The Teeth Beneath
Dive into the "Shark Tooth Capital of the World" and unearth ancient Megalodon teeth from the ocean floor — an all-inclusive fossil hunt guided by a Divemaster in the water with you the whole time.
The Teeth Beneath is a specialty fossil scuba diving charter based in Nokomis, Florida, operating near Venice — widely known as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World. The operation takes up to four certified divers per trip to underwater fossil sites where they can search for fossilized shark teeth, including remains of the ancient Megalodon. Every trip includes a complimentary Divemaster in the water at all times to ensure safety and to teach guests how to hunt and identify fossils. Charters are available in one-tank and two-tank formats. The one-tank dive visits a single site over a 3-hour trip, while the two-tank dive covers two different spots over 5 hours. Tanks, dive flags, weights, and fossil bags are all included in the trip price, and rental gear (BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, masks, snorkels, fins, and booties) is available for an additional fee. Both shared per-person and private group bookings are offered, making the experience accessible to solo divers as well as small groups seeking an exclusive charter. Open Water certification (or higher) and a valid certification card are required, along with medical clearance from a physician prior to diving.
