Dive the legendary Vandenberg — a 520-foot warship now resting 140 feet down as the world's second largest artificial reef — or drift through the only living coral barrier reef in the United States, all departing steps from the shop in Old Town Key West.

Southpoint Divers has operated out of Old Town Key West since 1991, running its custom dive boat The Phoenix directly from the Hyatt Resort and Marina, just across the street from the shop at 606 Front Street. The operation covers two distinct underwater environments: the Vandenberg, a 520-foot decommissioned military vessel sunk in 2009 that sits on a sandy bottom at 140 feet with its deck at roughly 100 feet, earning its place as the world's second largest artificial reef; and the shallow living coral reefs of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, the only coral barrier reef of its kind in the United States. Morning trips are devoted to the Vandenberg wreck, offering certified divers a genuinely dramatic experience inside and around a massive steel structure. Afternoon trips visit two shallow reef sites teeming with tropical fish and accessible to beginners. Night dives on the shallow reef reveal a completely different world — parrot fish tucking into protective cocoons while lobster, brittle stars, and squid take center stage in the dark. Beyond the charter schedule, the shop carries a full line of ScubaPro gear and equipment essentials, and the teaching staff runs courses from introductory Discover SCUBA experiences all the way through Divemaster. Several instructors hold specialty certifications in Nitrox, Wreck, and conservation-focused courses, reflecting the team's roots in Key West's marine environment.
