Explore the crystal-clear waters of Key West and the remote Dry Tortugas on a breath-hold — guided by an experienced Fii-certified instructor committed to safety, depth, and technique.
Freedive Key West is a freediving school and guided-adventure operation based in the Florida Keys, run by Tracy Wollschlager, a certified Fii (Freediving Instructors International) instructor. The school focuses exclusively on breath-hold diving, offering structured Fii Level 1 and Juniors Level 1 certification courses as well as an Advanced Freediving Safety Course. Periodic spearfishing specialty courses led by visiting expert instructors round out the curriculum. Beyond coursework, Freedive Key West runs guided freediving and spearfishing journeys for groups, providing professional supervision, safety support, and real-time feedback on technique. The signature outing is a full-day private charter to Dry Tortugas National Park — a remote coral-reef archipelago roughly 70 miles west of Key West — available for groups of one to six guests and combinable with the Fii Level 1 course for those who complete the classroom and pool sessions beforehand. The operation also carries a curated selection of freediving and spearfishing gear through its online Shopify storefront, including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, weight belts, reels, floatlines, and dive knives — making it a one-stop resource for students and independent freedivers in the Florida Keys.
