Slow Dive - Casa Chihuahua
Dive slow and small with a family-run crew in Bayahibe. Join Julie & David for intimate reef explorations or get your hands dirty helping restore the Caribbean's coral reefs.
Slow Dive - Casa Chihuahua is a small, eco-friendly dive center and Bed & Breakfast run by Belgian couple Julie and David in the village of Bayahibe. The operation focuses on slow-paced diving with very small groups (their boat 'Wanda' holds max 4 divers) to local sites like Peñon Reef and Cotubanama National Park. Beyond standard fun dives, they offer a strong marine conservation program in collaboration with FUNDEMAR, including coral gardening, lionfish hunting, and spawning monitoring. They also run authentic land and sea excursions that explore the 'real' Dominican Republic away from mass tourism, such as outback treks to Padre Nuestro cave or eco-tours to remote beaches on Saona Island.
