Operating out of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina at 1881 SE 17th Street, the American Dream II runs twice-daily dive trips — morning departure at 8:30 AM and afternoon at 1:30 PM — giving divers flexible access to some of South Florida's finest underwater terrain. The Gulf Stream keeps water temperatures averaging 72–75°F in winter and 84–87°F in summer, with visibility averaging around 40 feet and improving during the cooler months. The reef system off Fort Lauderdale runs in three parallel bands from 15 to 100 feet deep, offering sites like The Caves and Oakland Ridges (25–35 ft), Barracuda Reef (15–30 ft), Hammerhead Reef (60–80 ft), and deeper sites like Minecar, Paradise, and Tuna Alley (45–65+ ft). Marine life at these sites includes large grouper, rays, sharks, grunts, snapper, and green moray eels. Fort Lauderdale is also one of the world's premier wreck diving destinations, with more than 75 artificial reefs sunk since 1982. The American Dream II visits standout wrecks including the 180-foot barge Hog Heaven (64 ft), the Robert Edmister Coast Guard cutter (70 ft), the tugboat Jay Scutti, the intact Dutch freighter Rebel (sitting in 110 ft with the deck at 85 ft), the Mercedes freighter (97 ft), and the Jim Atria (112 ft), among others.
