Train in the safe waters of Academy Bay next to the Charles Darwin Station, then explore the legendary remote sites of the Galápagos.
Galapagos Dive Academy is a dive training center located in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, adjacent to the Charles Darwin Research Station and next door to the DAN decompression chamber facility. The academy specializes in high-quality instruction for novice divers in the sheltered waters of Academy Bay. Their local sites include Punta Estrada (6-15m), Loberia/Caamaño Islet, El Bajo (40m seamount), and El Barranco (underwater cliff). These sites are accessible within a 10-to-20-minute boat ride from the town's main harbour. For certified divers seeking more challenging conditions, GDA arranges long-range day trips to world-class remote sites such as Gordon Rocks, Bartolome, Beagle Rocks, and Floreana. They also offer night dive adventures in Academy Bay.
