Fast Action Fishing, operated by Captain Marvin Henkel out of Portland, Oregon, runs guided and charter fishing trips on the Columbia River, Willamette River, and select Oregon Coast fisheries including Astoria, Buoy 10, and Tillamook Bay. With over 25 years of full-time guiding experience and more than 200 trips per year, the operation targets spring Chinook, fall Chinook, Coho salmon, sturgeon, walleye, rockfish, lingcod, and Dungeness crab depending on the season. Trips are available near Portland, the Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles, Rufus, Hood River, and other productive waters throughout Oregon and southwest Washington. The guide boat is a 27-foot Alumaweld Intruder, covered and heated for the Pacific Northwest's variable weather, and equipped with modern electronics and quality fishing gear. The boat accommodates up to six anglers, and every trip includes the boat, fuel, professional guide service, rods, reels, tackle, bait, and all required safety equipment. Marvin holds a U.S. Coast Guard captain's license and has been featured on FOX 12's Good Day Oregon on seventeen separate occasions, as well as on KGW News. Full-day guided fishing trips start at $250 per person, with seasonal half-day excursions also available. Crabbing trips targeting Dungeness crab run from October through January at $150 per person. The operation is beginner-friendly and family-friendly, with Marvin providing instruction and gear guidance throughout the day. Exact launch locations are confirmed before each trip based on current fish movements, river conditions, and regulations.
