Skin Deep Diving

Portland, GB5 hrsListed on Direct
Operated by Skin Deep Diving Ltd

From Portland Marina on England's south coast, Skin Deep Diving takes you to some of the UK's most celebrated wreck dives — submarines, warships, and merchant vessels lying in depths from 29 m to 57 m along the Dorset coast, plus multi-day charters to the crystal-clear waters of the Isles of Scilly.

Skin Deep Diving operates a purpose-built 11-metre catamaran dive boat out of Portland Marina on the south coast of England, running shuttle-style charter trips to wreck and reef dive sites around Portland, Weymouth, and the wider Dorset coast. The marina itself serves as a one-stop hub, with parking, showers and toilets, rib dry stack storage, moorings, a café, a pub, a chandlery, an RYA training school, and boat repair facilities on site, with the O'Three drysuit manufacturer also nearby. The dive programme covers a broad range of sites suited to different certification levels, including deep historic wrecks such as the Warrior II and Merchant Royal at 57 m, HMS Boadicea at 50 m, and shallower options like Elena R at 29 m. Shuttles run to named sites on specific dated departures, with trips typically lasting around five hours and spaces capped in the low double digits per trip. Marine life in the region includes seals, schools of fish, crustaceans and corals. Beyond Dorset, Skin Deep also offers boat charter expeditions to the Isles of Scilly off the Cornish coast, where divers can explore historic shipwrecks and encounter playful seals in waters with visibility up to 25 metres. The boat also hosts Bluefin Tuna catch-and-release fishing trips, running full-day (07:00–17:00) excursions in September.
