Due South Fishing Expeditions
The South Carolina Lowcountry's tidal flats, spartina marshes, and barrier islands offer some of the most distinctive inshore saltwater fishing on the East Coast — and Capt. Nicholas Boyd knows every creek and flood-tide flat intimately. From tailing redfish on skinny water to rolling tarpon in deep channels, a day with Due South puts anglers in the middle of it all.
Due South Fishing Expeditions is a fly and conventional fishing charter operation run by Beaufort native Capt. Nicholas Boyd, operating across the South Carolina Lowcountry from Beaufort, Hilton Head, Fripp Island, and Edisto. The Lowcountry's mosaic of barrier islands, estuaries, salt marshes, spartina grass flats, and oyster beds provides year-round inshore fishing for redfish, tarpon, cobia, jack crevalle, tripletail, and false albacore (albies), with tides that can swing over eight feet dictating strategy each day. Capt. Nicholas specializes in both fly fishing and spin fishing, welcoming anglers of all experience levels. Signature experiences include sight-fishing for tailing redfish on flood-tide spartina flats, intercepting migrating tarpon rolling in rivers and channels during the warmest months, and targeting blitzing albies in the nearshore waters off the barrier islands. Multiple boats are available for groups of more than two people. Full day, three-quarter day, and half day charters are available, with all trips including tackle/flies, fuel costs, launch fees, and a cooler with water and ice. Pricing is available on request by phone or contact form, with a $200 per day per boat deposit required to book. Note: this operator runs fishing charters only and does not offer scuba diving or snorkeling trips.
