Catalina Scuba
Breathe underwater in Catalina's world-class kelp forests, ranked among the top 10 dive destinations on the planet — Giant Black Sea Bass, Garibaldi, Bat Rays, and the occasional Sea Lion await at the Casino Point Underwater Park.
Catalina Scuba operates out of Casino Point Underwater Park — a protected Marine Reserve in Avalon, California, just minutes from the Catalina Express ferry — offering daily guided dives in the island's renowned giant kelp forests. The park is a no-take reserve where marine life thrives, making it ideal for underwater observation and photography. All guided dive packages include full equipment, Atomic Regulators, and Shearwater dive computers. The shop caters to all experience levels, from first-timers joining a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience to certified divers looking for 1-tank, 2-tank, or night dives. Guided dives start at $105 for a single tank, with 2-tank options at $195 and night dives starting at $199 — all equipment included. Certified divers who haven't been in the water recently can also book a refresher dive with a PADI Professional before heading back in. Beyond guided dives, Catalina Scuba provides the full range of PADI recreational and professional training, from Open Water certification through Divemaster and specialty courses such as Deep Diver and Self-Reliant Diver. The team's mission is personalized instruction matched to each student's experience and goals, delivered by an expert staff based permanently on the island.
