Operated by Captain Hook's Marina & Dive Center
NAUI affiliated operator

From their dock in Marathon to the iconic wrecks off Key West, Captain Hook's puts you on the water — and under it — across the full stretch of the Florida Keys. Sixty years of local knowledge, four legendary wrecks, and a complimentary divemaster in the water with you on every reef dive.

Captain Hook's Marina & Dive Center operates from three locations spanning over 60 miles of the Florida Keys — Marathon (Mile Marker 53), Big Pine Key (Mile Marker 29.5), and Key West — giving divers an unusually wide range of sites and conditions. Their Marathon and Big Pine locations feature boats docked directly behind the shops for easy check-in, while Key West trips launch from Key West Harbour Yacht Club and Marina, where guests enjoy complimentary use of the Harbour Club and free parking on dive days. Everyday reef trips visit classic spur-and-groove formations at Coffins Patch and Sombrero Reef in 15–35 feet of water, with a complimentary divemaster in the water at no extra charge. For wreck divers, Captain Hook's is the only operator in the Middle Keys, Lower Keys, and Key West that accesses all four of the region's signature wrecks: the 522-foot USNS Vandenberg off Key West, the 189-foot Thunderbolt sitting at around 120 feet near Marathon, the Adolphus Busch Sr. off Big Pine Key, and the Cayman Salvager off Key West. Their "4 Wrecks Program" (also called the Heavy Metal Tour or Full Metal Tour) rewards divers who complete all four with a $100 gift certificate. The shop also offers sunset/night dive combos where a late-afternoon reef dive flows into a night dive, revealing bioluminescence and nocturnal marine life. Beyond diving, Captain Hook's runs fishing charters, sunset cruises aboard a 45-foot power catamaran, boat rentals, and NAUI certification courses from introductory Discover Scuba through leadership programs. The Marathon location doubles as a working marina with marine fuel, a convenience store, and live bait and tackle. An authorized Cressi dealer, the shop stocks and sells masks, fins, BCDs, regulators, dive computers, spearguns, and accessories across its three locations and online, with free shipping on orders over $50.
