Captain Hook's Dive Key West

Seven miles offshore, a 520-foot missile-tracking ship sits in 145 feet of water, drawing certified divers into one of the world's most dramatic artificial reefs — and Captain Hook's has been running the trip for decades. Whether you're chasing goliath groupers on the Cayman Salvager or exploring sun-drenched inner reefs, Key West's biggest full-service dive operation puts you in the water fast.

Captain Hook's Dive Key West operates out of 1708 N. Roosevelt Blvd., just minutes from Old Town and the Key West Historic Seaport, giving guests close access to some of Florida's most celebrated dive sites. Daily half-day charters — departing at 9 AM and 2 PM — take divers to the USS Vandenberg (the world's second-largest artificial reef resting in 145 ft of water), the Cayman Salvager (a steel-hulled buoy tender famous for resident goliath groupers), and the shallow-to-mid inner and outer coral reefs of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Night dives on the surrounding coral reefs round out the schedule, and trip prices include tanks, weights, and weight belt — no surprise rental add-ons. The shop is the largest full-service dive center in the Florida Keys, stocking new and rental gear, offering air fills and repair, and teaching SSI, PADI, and NAUI programs across all certification levels — from one-day Resort Courses for first-timers to Divemaster and specialty tracks for experienced divers. Snorkeling trips and sandbar excursions also run daily with small-group caps, certified guides, and all gear included. Captain Hook's carries the Blue Star Operator designation — the Florida Keys' conservation recognition for operators dedicated to coral reef education and preservation — and the shop's current owners continue a legacy of reef stewardship stretching back more than 44 years. With dive travel packages, fishing charters through its sibling Marathon and Big Pine locations, and real-time online booking through Rezdy, the operation serves the full range of underwater visitors to Key West.
