Blacktip Divers Costa Rica
Experience the "Pura Vida" spirit of Costa Rica's Pacific coast with a local family-run crew exploring the volcanic reefs and marine life of Isla del Caño.
Blacktip Divers Costa Rica is a 100% costarricense dive operation based in Uvita on the Pacific coast. The team runs daily boat tours and PADI courses out of Bahía Ballena, taking divers to the Reserva Biológica de Isla del Caño, which sits about 30 km off the Osa Peninsula. The island is known for its volcanic seafloor and diverse coral reefs, with visibility averaging between 12 and 30 meters. Divers can encounter white-tip reef sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, large schools of jackfish, and during migration season, humpback whales. The water temperature averages around 28°C (74°F). The operation is family-run with a "PURA VIDA" style, emphasizing local guides and small groups. They are the first dive company in Uvita to offer Nitrox tours and donate $3 from every excursion to the Costa Rica Coral Restoration project.
