Universal Diver Training, Inc. (UDT) is headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida, and is built around a mission of motivating teens and young adults to embrace scuba diving as a lifelong pursuit. Rather than following scripted, minimum-standard curricula, UDT's educators focus on developing genuine mastery — knowledge, skills, and in-water technique — across a curriculum that runs from snorkel and skin diving through open water, advanced, and specialty certifications. The technical arm of UDT's programming is particularly extensive, covering Double Cylinder Diving and Decompression Procedures, Cavern diving, Solo Diver, Semi-Closed Rebreather, Sport Trimix, Wreck Penetration, and a full Trimix ladder from Entry Level (150 ft) through Explorer (350 ft). Students who do not meet full UDT certification benchmarks may qualify as a Guided Diver, reflecting the organization's commitment to honest assessment over credential inflation. Leadership development is an equally central pillar: UDT trains Assistant Instructors, Dive Guides, Divemasters, Mentored Instructors, Instructor Trainers, Master Instructors, and Course Directors. All leadership candidates are tested on swimming, skin diving, and scuba skills as well as in-water and classroom teaching ability.
