Underwater Sports
Underwater Sports — how the Northwest learns to dive. Five locations spanning Seattle, Federal Way, Edmonds, Tacoma, and Bellevue put the Pacific Northwest's cold, gear-intensive diving within easy reach year-round.
Underwater Sports has been the anchor of dive education in the Greater Seattle area since 1950, operating five full-service locations across Seattle, Federal Way, Edmonds, Lakewood (Tacoma), and Bellevue. Each center is staffed by instructors and gear specialists who personally test top scuba and snorkeling brands to help divers — from first-timers to professionals — find the right equipment for Pacific Northwest conditions. The Edmonds location sits one block south of Edmonds Underwater Park, placing students steps from open-water training dives. The training program runs the full PADI ladder: Beginning Open Water ($595 + tax), Advanced Open Water ($395 + tax), Rescue Diver ($399.95 + tax), and Divemaster ($965 + tax), plus a Re-Activate refresher ($149.95 + tax) for returning divers. Specialty courses include the Drysuit Diver Specialty Course ($299.95 + tax) — a natural fit for the Pacific Northwest's cool waters — and an Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) course ($199.95 + tax). Instructor Development Courses (IDC) are also available for those pursuing a professional path. Beyond instruction, Underwater Sports provides ongoing gear servicing and repairs to keep equipment in top working order. The retail floor carries a broad range of personal dive gear, and online package bundles are available for purchase directly through the website. All courses require pre-registration and a deposit, with e-Learning included in most course fees.
