Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center
Explore Catalina Island's thriving kelp forests from Two Harbors, where Pacific visibility stretches up to 100 feet and divemaster-guided snorkel and dive excursions depart right from calm, sandy beaches.
Situated at the Isthmus of Santa Catalina Island in Two Harbors, this recreation center is the go-to hub for water activities on Catalina's less-traveled western shore. The surrounding Pacific waters have been recognized by Scuba Diving Magazine as among the world's healthiest marine environments, with visibility ranging from 40 to 100 feet and water temperatures between 55 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit — ideal conditions for exploring the abundant kelp forests that define diving and snorkeling here. The center maintains a comprehensive rental inventory: complete snorkel packages (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit), full SCUBA setups including regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, and tanks with air fills, as well as kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and skiffs. Guests can enter the water directly from Two Harbors' calm sandy beaches or paddle out in a specially designed diving kayak to reach secluded coves. Divemasters lead guided kayak and snorkel tours, and guided dive trips are also available for certified divers. Operating daily from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, the center offers rentals on hourly, half-day, full-day, and overnight bases. Lessons, guided dive trips, and reservations can be arranged by calling the center directly, and online booking is available through FareHarbor.
