Tri-City Scuba is a husband-and-wife operated dive center based in Colonial Heights, Virginia, founded by Mitch and Lisa Heller with the mission of building a thriving dive community in the Tri-Cities area. The shop runs local dive days at Lake Phoenix for certified divers, offers guided dives at the same inland site, and hosts pool sessions for skill maintenance and Try Scuba introductory experiences for newcomers. Beyond local waters, Tri-City Scuba organizes group travel trips to destinations including Beaufort, N.C. for wreck diving, Roatan in Honduras, a Turks & Caicos liveaboard, the Georgia Aquarium, Cayman Brac, and South Africa. The shop is an authorized Avelo Dive Center, bringing the Avelo buoyancy system to the local community alongside a full lineup of ScubaPro regulators, Suex underwater scooters, and Sharkskin exposure protection. Training spans the full SSI and SDI curricula — from Open Water through Divemaster and Instructor programs — plus specialty courses covering nitrox, wreck, deep, drysuit, cave, photography, and technical decompression diving. The shop also provides gear servicing for regulators, cylinders, BCDs, and dive computers.
