Texas Caribbean Charters departs from Freeport, Texas aboard the M-V Fling, offering blue-water liveaboard dive expeditions to the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary and nearby Stetson Bank. Twice-weekly departures run from June through October, making this the most accessible route to world-class offshore diving on the Texas Gulf Coast. The trips range from a 2-day weekend jaunt to a 4-day coral spawn experience, with divers waking up on the water ready to dive at dawn. The Flower Garden Banks — split into the West Bank and East Bank — are celebrated for manta ray encounters, sea turtle interactions, and thriving coral reefs. Between banks, divers also drop on deep-water oil platforms, which consistently draw some of the highest-rated reactions from trip participants. Stetson Bank, with its lack of coral cover, offers an entirely different experience: wide-open terrain where wildlife has nowhere to hide, producing close encounters with sharks and other marine life, including dramatic night dives.
