Situated at the Blue Lagoon in Huntsville, Texas — about 60 miles outside of Houston — Texan Scuba has been introducing divers to the sport since 2008. The facility serves students and divers from Houston, Conroe, The Woodlands, and surrounding communities, pairing a full-service dive shop with an active training program. Group and private dive trips are available for those who have already earned their certification, and the operation also arranges dive travel services for destinations beyond Texas. The training program is built around a condensed weekend model: students complete their theory coursework online at home, then arrive at the Blue Lagoon for a single weekend of pool and open-water instruction. An air-conditioned, heated bunkhouse on-site makes it easy for students coming from out of town to stay the full weekend without added expense. Course offerings run from entry-level open water certification all the way through divemaster and instructor levels, with the facility describing itself as the only such instructor development center in Texas operating in conjunction with the Blue Lagoon. The on-site shop carries dive equipment for purchase, and rental gear is available to support training courses.
