Tacoma SCUBA
Whether you're just getting started or pushing into technical depths, Tacoma SCUBA keeps classes small, the coffee pot on, and the adventure calendar full year-round.
Located at 1602 Center St C in Tacoma, Washington, Tacoma SCUBA has served the South Puget Sound diving community since October 2005. The shop runs recreational, specialty, and technical SCUBA classes for all experience levels — from first-time beginners and Rescue Divers through Master Diver and beyond — deliberately keeping class sizes small so every student gets individual attention. Scheduled group dives and social events are organized throughout the year, making it a genuine community hub for Pacific Northwest divers. The shop's teaching philosophy sets it apart: the team aims to help divers choose the gear that suits their individual needs rather than steering them toward whatever's easiest to sell. Staff includes instructors, assistant instructors, and a divemaster, providing consistent in-water support from initial certification through advanced and technical training. Tacoma SCUBA also operates a full gear service and repair department, covering cylinders (annual visuals, hydrostatic and eddy current testing), regulators serviced for air, Nitrox, or oxygen, BCDs, and drysuits — handling most major brands. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, offering a convenient resource for divers across the region.
