Sport Divers of Houston operates out of Webster, TX and has been serving the Houston diving community since 1979, making it the oldest dive shop in the greater Houston area and the third oldest in Texas. The shop runs regular local dive events at inland Texas lakes and sites — including Mammoth Lake, Blue Lagoon, and sites around Huntsville, Athens, and Lake Jackson — where certified divers explore freshwater environments within a few hours' drive of Houston. The "Fun Day of Diving" and "Dive Around Texas" series give divers frequent opportunities to explore the best underwater spots the state has to offer, with experienced guides leading each outing. Beyond local diving, Sport Divers of Houston organizes international travel trips for those looking to explore the world's premier dive destinations. Upcoming expeditions include a week-long trip to Roatan's Mayan Princess Beach & Dive Resort on West Bay Beach (October 2026) and a 10-day expedition to Beqa Lagoon, Fiji (August 2027), giving Houston-area divers access to barrier reef and soft coral diving. The shop also hosts special events like the Scuba Olympics and participates in the SSI Master Diver Challenge.
