Spartan Scuba

From a poolside Discover Scuba session to deep technical deco dives, Spartan Scuba takes you from guppy to Course Director in the Pacific Northwest and beyond — with the focused, one-on-one attention of a truly boutique dive center.

Based in Gresham, Oregon, Spartan Scuba is a USMC veteran-owned boutique dive shop operating out of a by-appointment-only facility. The center runs private and small-group instruction only — no large crowds — with local dives ranging from saltwater sessions at Sunrise Dive Park on Hood Canal to freshwater expeditions at Timothy Lake, Clear Lake, and Lost Lake in the Pacific Northwest. Affiliated with SDI, TDI, ERDI, and First Response as a 5-Star Professional Development Center, Spartan Scuba covers the full training ladder from Discover Scuba and Open Water through Divemaster, Instructor, and Course Director. Technical diving courses including TDI Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, and Intro to Tech are also available, alongside a wide range of specialty and first aid courses. Beyond local diving, the shop organizes group trips abroad — including an upcoming 8-day/7-night Cozumel trip in February–March 2027. Veterans are specifically welcomed, as the GI Bill can be applied toward training programs from Open Water certification all the way up to Instructor Trainer level.
