From regular beach dives on Puget Sound to liveaboard expeditions in the Galapagos and Chuuk Lagoon, Silent World has been putting divers in the water — safely and thoroughly — for over 50 years.
Silent World Diving Systems has operated out of Bellevue, Washington since 1972, built on a philosophy of "Quality not Quantity." Local diving runs the gamut from regular beach dives at sites throughout Puget Sound to day boat trips departing from Tacoma, where at least one certified and insured divemaster or instructor accompanies every trip. All divers joining excursions are required to have current cold-water dive experience (within the last 6 months) and DAN dive accident insurance. The shop's international travel program organizes dive vacations around the world, from God's Pocket Resort in British Columbia to liveaboard expeditions in the Galapagos, Chuuk Lagoon, the Solomon Islands, and Fiji — with a seasoned divemaster sent on every trip. Trip prices typically include diving (boat and shore), air fills, and room and board; airfare is usually included as well. The shop vets every overseas dive operator for safety reputation, equipment quality, and Nitrox availability. On the retail side, Silent World carries high-quality brands including Atomic, Scubapro, Hollis, Bare, Shearwater, and Oceanic, and offers rentals of BCDs, regulators, drysuits, wetsuits, tanks, and weights. In-house equipment servicing covers most major brands with typical 7–10 day turnaround, and air, Nitrox, Argon, Oxygen, and Helium fills are available on-site.
