Shark Quest Dive Shop, opened in April 2019 by Nick and Eric, operates out of Gulf Breeze, Florida, running 2-tank boat charters from Shalimar Harbor Marina (C-Dock, 100 Old Ferry Road, Shalimar, FL). Trips depart into the Gulf of Mexico on a 30-foot Scotty Craft, limited to just six passengers, with a Divemaster always aboard. The range covers inshore sites within 9 miles of Destin Pass all the way out to 25 miles offshore, taking divers to a growing fleet of artificial reefs and historic wrecks. The shop is home to the 2022 Florida Fish and Wildlife Lionfish King and enthusiastically offers spearfishing on inshore charters, as well as dedicated Lionfish Hunt trips. Mid-shore regulars include wrecks such as the Courageous, Big Dawg, and Manta in Shipwreck Alley, while the site list spans tugboats, barges, landing craft, a liberty ship, and newly deployed vessels like the RMS Cyclops and Dolphin. The small-boat format accommodates novice divers who enjoy close Divemaster attention as well as experienced divers bringing doubles, sidemount rigs, rebreathers, or camera setups. Beyond charters, Shark Quest serves as a full-service dive shop in Gulf Breeze with NAUI and SDI/TDI certification programs ranging from Open Water through instructor level, including the Poseidon Se7en Rebreather and Intro to Tech courses. Rental equipment — tanks, BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, dive computers, and weights — is brought to the boat so guests don't need to visit the shop before diving.
