Seven Seas Dive Shop
Founded by one of Louisiana's diving pioneers nearly 50 years ago, Seven Seas brings everything a diver needs—training, gear, full-service repair, and a private practice pool—under one roof in Baton Rouge.
Seven Seas Dive Shop has served as Baton Rouge's only full-service scuba center since April 1977, when diving pioneer Phil Cohagan opened its doors. Today his family—owner Nancy Cohagan, son Kelly, and daughter Kimberly—continues that legacy from a single location off Essen Lane at I-10. The facility combines a heated 15-foot indoor pool, on-site classroom, fully stocked retail showroom featuring ScubaPro gear, and a complete repair shop, all under one roof. NAUI-certified instructors lead all training, from the entry-level NAUI Scuba Diver course through advanced certifications. Nancy holds the rank of NAUI Course Director and DAN Instructor; Kelly oversees the training program and is a certified regulator repair technician; and Kimberly brings more than 23 years of instructional experience to both dive and swim teaching. Classes are offered in-store, via NAUI eLearning, or as private lessons at the facility or a client's location, with students completing certification dives on organized trips once pool and classroom work is finished. Beyond instruction, Seven Seas provides a comprehensive range of services: air and nitrox fills, tank visual inspections and hydrostatic testing, full regulator and BCD servicing, and daily or weekly rentals of regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, tanks, nitrox tanks, dive computers, and weights. The heated private pool is also available for practice sessions for already-certified divers, as well as for scuba and pool parties.
