Founded by a former Navy SEAL on Louisiana's north shore, Seal Sports brings the discipline and passion of the deep to every student and diver who walks through the door.

Tucked in Mandeville, Louisiana on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Seal Sports has served the greater New Orleans diving community since it was founded in 2000 by Garrett Schwing, a former Navy SEAL. Under current owner Lance Hollis, who took the helm in March 2019, the shop continues the founder's vision of building the region's finest dive center — a family-oriented, stress-free environment that guides students from their very first breath underwater all the way through professional instructor training and beyond. The instruction program spans every level, from introductory Discover Scuba sessions through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and professional certifications. A staff of thoroughly vetted instructors brings years of experience and a deep commitment to safety, conservation, and effective teaching. On the retail side, the shop maintains one of the most well-stocked showrooms in the region, carrying brands such as Aqualung, Atomic, Cressi, Hollis, Oceanic, Shearwater, Suunto, TUSA, and Zeagle, with the ability to source specialty or hard-to-find items quickly. Beyond instruction and retail, Seal Sports organizes dive travel for divers looking to explore destinations beyond Louisiana waters. Gear rental and service and repair round out a full suite of scuba-related services, making the shop a one-stop resource for divers at every stage of their underwater journey.
