Sea Dogs Dive Center
Over a dozen world-famous wrecks and sweeping Atlantic reefs sit just offshore New Smyrna Beach — Sea Dogs has been guiding divers to them, and to Florida's legendary freshwater springs, for more than 25 years.
Sea Dogs Dive Center operates out of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, serving the greater Volusia County area including Daytona Beach. The center sits just minutes from one of the most wreck-dense stretches of Florida's Atlantic coast, where named shipwrecks — including the USS Mindanoa, the Rio Yuna, the Semarca, and the Atlas Barge — lie within reach of day boats. The warm waters of the Gulf Stream, flowing steadily northward at around 4 knots along Florida's entire eastern shoreline, deliver clear visibility and a rich mixture of tropical and subtropical marine life to these offshore sites. Known as a spearfishing specialist, Sea Dogs caters to hunters and observers alike. Grouper, snapper, tarpon, wahoo, and cobia are common quarry for spearfishers, while non-hunting divers share the same water with sea turtles, Goliath groupers, manta rays, and the occasional right whale. The center also organizes trips to Florida's extraordinary network of freshwater springs — from Crystal River manatee encounters to the cavern systems at Ginnie Springs, Devil's Den, and Peacock Springs — offering year-round 72°F clarity that is unlike anything in the open ocean. As a full-service dive center with over 25 years of experience, Sea Dogs offers a complete training curriculum from first-time Discover Scuba experiences through Divemaster certification, with specialty courses covering Nitrox, Cavern, Deep, and Wreck. The retail shop stocks top-quality dive gear alongside a full rental inventory — wetsuits, regulators, BCDs, and tanks — and offers air and Nitrox fills in a range of cylinder sizes, rounding out the center's capabilities for both independent divers and students.
