From first breaths underwater to professional-level certifications, Scuba Ventures has been guiding Alabama divers into the underwater world since 1989 — with expert instructors, a fully stocked gear showroom, and group trips to destinations like Dominica and the Philippines.

Scuba Ventures has operated out of Vestavia Hills, Alabama since 1989, serving Birmingham-area divers with comprehensive scuba training, equipment sales, and organized group travel. The shop's instructors and divemasters bring over 50 combined years of experience, offering year-round classes from beginner Open Water certification through technical and professional-level Divemaster programs — as well as freediving and mermaiding courses. The facility is also a certified member of the Handicap Scuba Association (HSA) and accepts referrals for NAUI and SSI certifications in addition to its primary PADI affiliation. Beyond training, Scuba Ventures runs a full-service equipment facility capable of servicing, repairing, and rebuilding nearly any brand of scuba gear. The showroom carries major industry brands including ScubaPro, Oceanic, Atomic Aquatics, Dive Rite, Mares, Cressi, and more, with gear packages available for new and experienced divers alike. Zero-interest payment plans are available on personal gear packages. Each year, Scuba Ventures organizes several domestic and international group dive trips, with recent offerings including a 2026 expedition to Dominica's volcanic reefs and a Philippines adventure billed as a "trip of a lifetime." The Dominica trip features five days of two-tank boat dives on pristine Caribbean reefs, champagne vents, and dramatic walls — with meals, transfers, marine park fees, and government taxes all included in the package price.
