Scuba Fusion Dive Center occupies a brick-and-mortar shop at 1210 South El Camino Real in San Mateo, tucked between Highway 101 and 280 just north of Route 92 — one of the most accessible dive shop locations in the Bay Area. Under the same ownership and at the same address since 2007, the center runs a full-time operation devoted to scuba instruction, guiding students through pool sessions in San Mateo and on to ocean checkout dives at Monterey, famous for its dramatic kelp forests and cold-water marine life. For already-certified divers, the shop runs guided boat dives at Monterey and organizes group travel to destination reefs, including Cozumel, Mexico and the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao). These group trips let Bay Area divers explore world-class reef systems alongside familiar instructors and gear they can trust, bridging the gap between learning locally and diving globally. The fully stocked retail showroom carries brands including Aqualung, Atomic, Shearwater, Cressi, Bare, Hollis, and GoPro, and an online reservation system lets divers book tanks, BCDs, regulators, hoods, and wetsuits ahead of Monterey trips. Students enrolled in certification programs receive all instructional gear — BCD, regulator, computer, tanks, weights, wetsuit, and hood — at no charge during both pool and ocean dives, with no-questions-asked exchanges on any personal gear that doesn't fit.
