Salty Descents is a dive center located in Kalyves on the Old National Road between Rethymno and Chania. The operator runs boat trips from Kalyves Port to several distinct sites around Souda Bay and the western coast of Crete. Signature dives include the Minnewaska III, a historic WWI troopship wreck lying 20 meters deep in Souda Bay just ten minutes by RIB from port. The Elephant Cave offers an underwater paleontological experience with fossilized remains and stalactites at depths up to 10 meters. Other sites mentioned on their pages include the Nestor Wreck, Pervolitsa Canyon, and a Messerschmitt Bf 109 aircraft wreck accessible by shore dive. The team provides SSI training for all levels from beginner Try Scuba experiences through advanced certifications.
