Salem Scuba
From your very first breath underwater to leading dives as a PADI Divemaster, Salem Scuba guides you every step of the way — with more pool and open-water training time than anyone else in the region.
Salem Scuba operates out of Salem, Oregon, offering PADI dive training at every level from Open Water through professional development. The shop runs monthly Open Water Diver courses that include confined water sessions at the Kroc Center in Salem, followed by an open-water certification weekend at Hoodsport, Washington — a program designed to give students more pool and open-water time than competing shops, along with bonus dives such as night dives, wreck dives, and wall dives beyond the standard four checkout dives. Beyond entry-level training, Salem Scuba's curriculum extends to PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Divemaster, and DAN Diving First Aid courses. The Divemaster program is built around a career-development focus, staffed by a Gold Course Director, two IDC Staff Instructors, and several Master Scuba Diver Trainers, and includes the PADI Equipment Specialist course, Dive Theory eLearning, fill station operator training, and a dive shop staffing mentorship. The shop is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10am–6pm and Saturday 10am–4pm, and also offers rentals and repairs. Students are kept fully informed of all costs upfront, including lodging, gear packages, and certification fees, with no hidden charges.
