Roanoke Island Dive Shop
Dive the historic shipwrecks of the Outer Banks with a family-run operation that has been exploring local wrecks and waters for over 30 years. From a shallow 20-foot wreck just 150 yards off the beach to full certification programs, Roanoke Island Dive Shop puts you in the water right from the North Carolina shore.
Roanoke Island Dive Shop is a family-owned and operated full-service dive center located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, run by Matt and Pam Landrum who have been diving and fishing the local wrecks and waters for over 30 years. Based at 627 US Highway 64 in Manteo, the shop offers guided beach dives to shallow coastal shipwrecks in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, departing typically at 7:00 AM. The signature shore dive targets a 20-foot wreck approximately 150 yards off the beach, guided by NAUI-certified Instructors and Divemasters who run a wreck reel around the site for easy exploration. Beyond guided dives, the shop provides a full slate of equipment rentals, air fills, and equipment services for scuba, snorkeling, and spearfishing. Divers needing to refresh their skills can sign up for a Refresher Class with Check-Out Dive held in the shop's private training quarry on Roanoke Island. The shop is a Universal Referral Facility, able to complete open-water dives for students who completed classroom and pool training with NAUI, PADI, SSI, or SDI at other facilities. The shop's training program spans entry-level SDI Scuba Diver courses through NAUI Divemaster and Instructor-level programs, as well as specialties including Wreck Diving, Navigation, Advanced Buoyancy, Nitrox (SDI and TDI), Rescue Diver, and NAUI Master SCUBA Diver. An online retail store stocks a wide range of gear from masks and fins to spearguns, BCDs, regulators, dive computers, and wetsuits — making it a genuine one-stop resource for divers visiting or living on the Outer Banks.
