Rec2Tec Scuba Instruction

Ventura, USListed on Direct
Operated by Neail Holland
NAUI affiliated operator

From California's Channel Islands to the Caribbean, Rec2Tec Scuba Instruction brings decades of technical and public-safety dive expertise to every student — whether you're taking your first breath underwater or pursuing cave and rebreather certifications.

Rec2Tec Scuba Instruction is run by Neail Holland, a NAUI Course Director and Instructor Trainer based in Ventura, California, who has been diving since 1989 and diving California's Channel Islands regularly since arriving in 1991. Holland brings unusually deep credentials to the teaching platform: he is a certified technical diver (closed-circuit rebreather and cave), a NAUI-affiliated instructor across recreational, technical, and public safety disciplines, and a retired Police Sergeant who supervised the Oxnard Police and Fire Public Safety Dive Team for years. His training certifications span PADI, NAUI, DAN, SDI/TDI/ERDI, NACD, and NSS-CDS, and he serves as both a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and a contract instructor for the US Navy. The school covers the full training continuum — from Intro to Scuba and Open Water certification through Rescue Diver, Nitrox, Sidemount, Wreck Diver, Full Face Mask, Visual Inspection Procedures, Emergency Oxygen Provider, and Master Scuba Diver. Classes are offered in private, semi-private, and group formats, and pool sessions can be conducted at the student's own pool. The Open Water course includes three classroom sessions, three pool sessions, two days of open-water diving, online course access, DAN student medical insurance, and both digital and plastic certification cards upon completion. VA educational benefits through the GI Bill are available, and discounts apply for military, DOD, and federal employees. Beyond instruction, Rec2Tec organizes scuba travel with Neail's dive group, with past trips spanning the USA, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The operation also provides equipment services including air and nitrox fills, visual inspection procedures (VIPs), hydrostatic testing, and paintball fills.
