Dive into Kentucky's clearest freshwater quarry — a 22-acre Blue Springs Park packed with sunken vehicles, an underwater school bus, lighthouses, and depths reaching 127 feet, all minutes from Hopkinsville's hotels and dining.

Pennyroyal Scuba Blue Springs Park sits inside the city limits of Hopkinsville, Kentucky — a 22-acre rock quarry billed as Kentucky's only full-service, diver-exclusive facility. The site is renowned for its unusually clear water, with visitors regularly reporting visibility of 25–60 feet depending on the season, and surface temperatures that can reach the mid-80s in summer before dropping into the 50s near the bottom via a thermocline typically around 25 feet. The quarry's maximum depth exceeds 127 feet, making it suitable for everything from entry-level open-water certification dives in the shallow shelves to deeper exploration for experienced divers. Underwater attractions include a sunken school bus, motorcycle, statues, excavator buckets, sunken boats and vehicles, rope-guided navigation routes, and even submerged lighthouses for navigation skills practice. A floating dock with stairs and a walk-in shallow entry area accommodate divers of all gear configurations, including giant-stride entries. The park is strictly diver-exclusive — no public swimming is permitted — and operates a rental department stocking BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, cylinders, and dive computers, alongside a full repair and service shop for regulators, tanks, and BCDs. Training is conducted through SSI (Scuba Schools International) as the primary agency, with SDI/TDI recently added for technical dive training. On-site amenities include RV and primitive tent camping, air and nitrox fills, and a Monday Night Safety Stop live YouTube show hosted by park staff. Solo diving is permitted for properly certified and approved divers meeting the park's redundant equipment requirements.
