Lone Star Scuba
Landlocked in Fort Worth but connected to the world's oceans — Lone Star Scuba has been turning Texans into certified divers since 1988 and sending them on bucket-list expeditions across the globe.
Lone Star Scuba has served the Dallas–Fort Worth area as a dive training center and full-service dive retailer since 1988, operating out of their shop at 2815 Alta Mere Dr in Fort Worth, Texas. Despite being landlocked, the shop makes it easy for locals to earn their scuba certification in just two weekends, using a heated indoor Junior Olympic pool for confined water training and nearby dive parks for open water checkout dives. The shop offers a full range of PADI certification courses, from beginner Discover Scuba Diving ($75) and Open Water Diver (starting at $549) through Rescue Diver and an extensive suite of specialty courses including Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Drift Diver, Deep Diver, Underwater Photography, and many more. Open Water packages range from Bronze ($549) to Silver ($749) to Gold ($949), with options to bundle specialties like Peak Performance Buoyancy and Enriched Air (Nitrox) alongside the base certification. Beyond local training, Lone Star Scuba organizes group dive travel to premier global destinations. Upcoming trips include Raja Ampat in March 2027, the Egyptian Red Sea (Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone) in October 2027, the Banda Sea in October 2028, and the Galápagos Islands in September 2029. The shop also stocks a full range of dive gear — masks, fins, BCDs, regulators, dive computers, underwater cameras, and accessories — making it a one-stop destination for North Texas divers.
