"La Mer" Diving School is a family-run operation in Taganga, Santa Marta, founded by Yessica and Sebastien "el Francés", who have worked together in tourism and diving for 9 years. The school operates small groups to provide personalized instruction, with all activities available in Spanish, English, and French. Dives are conducted within the Parque Nacional Tayrona, a protected marine area of 3,000 hectares featuring over 100 species of coral, more than 200 sponges, 300 algae species, and 400 fish species. The primary dive sites include Isla Aguja and Bahía de Granate. The school offers a range of PADI certification courses from Open Water to Divemaster, as well as recreational fun dives (daytime and night) for certified divers. All prices include a PADI professional, equipment, dive computer, boat transport to the park, healthy snacks, underwater photos, and theoretical materials/certification for courses.
