Situated right on Half Moon Bay in the West End of Roatán, Jackson's Dive Center was founded by Rino Jackson — known on the reef as "Magic Eyes" for his uncanny ability to spot elusive creatures — and continues today under the care of his family and a trusted team of instructors, divemasters, and a seasoned boat captain. With more than forty dive sites within a 10-minute boat ride, the shop offers wall dives, wreck dives, night dives, dawn dives, and dedicated macro dives along one of the finest stretches of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. What sets Jackson's apart is its commitment to intimate, personalized experiences: group sizes average about three divers per excursion, and the team tailors every outing — whether you're a first-timer, an underwater photographer, or a seasoned dive junkie chasing four dives a day. Wreck enthusiasts can explore El Aguila (the "Eagle," sitting at roughly 100 feet) and The Odyssey (about 110 feet, known for its swim-throughs), while wall enthusiasts can plunge the steep drop-offs of the Bonacca Ridge toward West Bay or Sandy Bay. The shop is open seven days a week from 8am to 4:30pm and runs fun dives at 8:30am, 10:30am, and 2:00pm daily, with no advance reservation required — just show up 15 minutes before your chosen dive. SSI certification courses ranging from Open Water to Divemaster are also available, with academic coursework completable online before arrival.
