High Tide Charters LLC
Fish the legendary waters of Calcasieu Lake with Captain Andrew Soileau — a lifelong guide who grew up minutes from the lake and knows every productive bend where redfish and speckled trout stack up.
High Tide Charters operates out of Lake Charles, Louisiana, running guided fishing trips on Calcasieu Lake — known locally as Big Lake — aboard a 2023 24-foot Blue Wave purebay powered by a 300hp Suzuki outboard and loaded with top-of-the-line equipment. Captain Andrew Soileau, who grew up just seven minutes from Calcasieu Point Landing, draws on years of firsthand knowledge of local waterways and fish behavior to put anglers on redfish, speckled trout, flounder, cobia, and tripletail throughout the seasons. The charter offers two core trip formats. The half-day PM trip runs four hours starting at 2:30 PM and is priced at $550 for up to three anglers (a fourth person can be added for $200). The full-day AM trip launches at daylight — around 6:00 AM — for eight hours on the water at $700 for up to three people, with the same fourth-person add-on available. Rods, reels, and tackle are included in both trips; live bait is not and typically costs around $20 per person at the marina. Captain Soileau also offers casino pickup in Lake Charles for an additional $50. Fishing at Big Lake follows the seasons closely. Summer reliably produces trout and redfish, with offshore chances at tripletail when weather cooperates. Fall brings the celebrated Calcasieu flounder run as shrimp move through the estuary, and winter offers the coveted trophy-sized speckled trout. Custom tours are available to accommodate physical limitations, time constraints, or families with children.
