Harry's Dive Shop is one of the oldest dive stores in the United States, based in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a history that sets it apart from nearly every other dive center in the country. The shop runs regular group day trips to the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area of Alabama — less than three hours away — where divers explore one of the largest artificial reef programs in the nation, including intentionally sunk ships, oil rigs, and other structures that have become thriving underwater ecosystems. These local trips depart aboard the Down Under, a 46-foot Newton Dive Special with twin turbo diesel engines, two large dive ladders, camera tables, freshwater showers, and 72 tank racks. Beyond the Gulf, Harry's organizes group dive travel to top destinations worldwide each year, drawing on decades of travel experience to handle logistics for their guests. Current trips include Cozumel, Curaçao, the Solomon Islands, Belize, Roatan, and Fiji, as well as liveaboard adventures with Blackbeard's Cruises through the Bahamas — covering walls, wrecks, blue holes, and shark diving. Resort-based packages bundle accommodations, meals, and diving at properties like Iberostar Cozumel and Lions Dive & Beach Resort in Curaçao. In addition to charters and travel, Harry's offers SSI certification training — including a monthly Try Scuba experience on the last Saturday of every month, Open Water certification, and continuing education — alongside full equipment sales, rentals, service, and fills. DAN dive insurance enrollment is also available through the shop.
