Grand Isle Outfitters
Fish the Louisiana marshes and Gulf nearshore waters with a crew that knows every productive bend — then unwind at island lodging steps from the launch. Grand Isle doesn't get any more complete than this.
Grand Isle Outfitters is a fishing charter and lodging operation headquartered at 100 Island Rd on Grand Isle, Louisiana. The fleet consists of two Haynie 25' Magnums rigged with 400 Verados, running private trips focused on inshore and nearshore fishing. Speckled trout and redfish are the primary targets, with seasonal availability of red snapper, sheepshead, and black drum depending on conditions. All charters are private, designed for families, visiting anglers, and tournament teams who want hands-on fishing guided by captains who know the island's waters. The operation is led by Captain Matt Fuertes and Captain Cole McCarty. Capt. Cole grew up guided by his father — a longtime Lake Calcasieu guide — and has brought that foundation to Grand Isle's inshore and nearshore fishery. Capt. Matt fished the Texas coast for years before discovering Grand Isle in 2017, after which he became a full-time guide building a reputation for adaptability and consistent results. Complementing the fishing, Grand Isle Outfitters offers comfortable island lodging just minutes from the launch, giving guests space to relax, cook their catch, host crawfish boils, or enjoy the island between trips. An all-inclusive option bundles fishing and lodging into a single Grand Isle package, making it a one-stop destination for groups and out-of-town visitors.
